Calendarium Solaris

The Calendarium Solaris was a project that I came up with while talking to my boyfriend at the time. It was something along the lines of me complaining that it was hard to do math with time. With his input on a few things I created a new calendar, complete with new units of time.

I do acknowledge the fact the the names of everything are annoyingly over the top sci-fi.

Orbitae (1 Year)

An Orbitae is the time it takes for earth to revolve around the sun, each Orbitae is made up of 13 Menses. It is the biggest unit of time.

There is a total of 365 Sols to an Orbitae

Orbitae of Realignment (Leap Year)

An Orbitae of Realignment happens when the Orbitae is divisible by four, except every 100 Orbitae, which it then must be divisible by 400.

In a Realignment, the Mensis of Finis will be 6 Sols instead of 5, with the added sol being called the Solaris of Realignment.

There are 13 Menses, 12 containing 3 Trimenses, 1 at the end of the Orbitae containing 5 Sols.
